Here, I will explain our rules regarding posting in further detail.
- Be literate. Halcyon Valley is a literate roleplay, and you must treat it as such. Use proper grammar and proper spelling, as well as proper sentence structure.
- No wolfspeak. Use of wolfspeak will not be tolerated.
- Only shortpost when necessary. When posting, please fill a full chat box, at the very least. Shortposting is only acceptable if you are typing a short reply to a question, or if you would quickly like to show how your character reacts to something.
- Follow the post order that has been formed. Otherwise, people waiting their turn will have to constantly re-type their responses to keep the roleplay flowing correctly. It is okay to shortpost out of order, in some circumstances. However, if you have a big post ready, just wait your turn!
- Use your post symbols. If you are still typing, for example, remember to follow your post with a ">>" or a "-c-" so that someone does not postcut you. If you are done typing, remember to follow your post with a "<<" or a "-d-" (or a "-s-" if your post is short) so that others can post.
- Do not postcut. Let everyone finish their posts!
Example #1: Literacy and Wolfspeak
GOOD
The female's ears flickered as she heard loud pawsteps behind her, and she quickly turned her head towards the noise. There, a large male wolf appeared out of the darkness, his eyes filled with rage. Instantly, the wolfess charged towards the male, her strong legs seemingly gliding across the terrain. <<
BAD
The femora's auditories flickered as she heard loud pawsteps behind her, and she quickly turned her cranium towards the noise. There, a large brujo appeared out of the darkness, his optics filled with rage. Instantly, the femme charged towards the hessian, her strong pillars seemingly gliding across the terra firma. <<
Example #2: Shortposting
ACCEPTABLE
"Oh, I would love to go on a hunt!" Rose yipped excitedly. She waited for the others to respond before acting further, her tail whipping around in anticipation. -s-
