The young gray nuzzled the female to make her look back at him. "Mae, You know you are truely my best friend. If it wern't for you, Im not sure where I would be right now, but it wouldn't be here." He told her, his words soft and gentle as he continued. "But... Im afraid. Im afraid of loosing you... What if something happens? Something devistating, right when I begin to feel happy again? Im afraid of being alone... Im afraid that history will repeat itself, an I can't live through that a second time..." He explained to her, his emerald eyes pleading that she would understand him. He put a paw on her own and waited for her to respond with an intense anxiousness in his mind.

As he nuzzled her, she returned the nuzzle. "Ali... You alone know my past... You know what pain I have suffered at the paws and teeth of a male wolf. Yet I opened myself to you." She murmured. "I don't know if I can promise that I will never die, but I can promise that I won't go down without a fight. I understand Ali... I'm just as scared that something will happen, and this fragile happiness we have will just disappear." She murmured, scooting closer so that she could tuck her head beneath his. "I understand and accept your fears. I have my own. But I do know this. You are the wolf I fell for. The one who made me laugh. Who stood up for me in front of the Alpha. The one who tried to be all rough and tough. But you are also the kind wolf. The sweet wolf. The caring wolf. And I'll never leave you without a fight." She murmured, pulling her head from beneath his and laying it on his shoulders.

Alistair sighed... she was getting to him, as she usually did. "You are the one who I could show a smile without feeling as though I were betraying my family's memory... You accepted me when no one else here would." He responded, feeling her fragile frame under his chin, and against his body. "I will protect you with my life. God forbid you die before I do." He told her, determination settling into his voice as he finally accepted her advance. He hugged her closer, and wrapped his tail around her stomach. "You will always be safe with me around. And I will never leave your side." He vowed, pushing his fears into the confines of his mind, as he was learning to do with the rest of his emotions now-a-days.

She snuggled up close to him, enjoying this new side to Alistair she had yet to meet. He was protective... Possessive? She'd figure that out soon enough. She closed her eyes and relaxed into the comfort of knowing her protector was there by her side. He'd protect her from her father, heavens forbid if he was still alive. And in turn, she'd provide him with comfort, and stability. Maybe even pups at some point if Arlot gave them permission to try and have a litter when they were a bit more mature.
